Today we went to Bad Keurznach and the state archives with Hans Walter. But before we left for Bad Krueznach, he presented me with two bottles of the wine he used to produce. Some of his last stock. We met with several people, including Mr. Hans Jorg from yesterday as well as people who will help us in our search to expand the Fischborn history. We were given copies of building requests by Hans Walter's grandparents, as well as shown a Last Will and Testament from the 1800's of a Fischborn ancestor.
Also joining us was Mr. Himmerman, who not only knows the protestant history of this area but has a distant Fischborn relative in his lineage. But when shown a document alleging that the Fischborns originally came from Southern England, became very animated that this could not be true. Everything was discussed in a very jovial context. That hour went very quickly.
Bad Kreuznach Photos
Outside our hotel. Many streets here have grape vines growing over and across them. Looks great.

Between stops I saw all this Laberkasen and couldn't buy an ounce. So sad'
Back in the car and a long boring ride to Triberg and the Black Forest. It started in Bad Krueznach which really is a sweat town and meandered through the German wine countryside which really is a great ride. But after that just countryside and freeways till you get to the mountains of the Black Forest. And of course with mountain roads come traffic.
We get to our hotel, check in. get drinks, walk around, rest and eat a great dinner in our hotel where we stayed 25 years ago. The same people own it and are as nice as ever.
Pictures from near our hotel.
