The Mansels in Rome. June 12th

Wake up and off to the airport to return the car and pick up the Mansels. We leave early so we will be there in plenty of time. One wrong turn and we loose 15 minutes.  Then we hit Rome morning rush hour and up ahead on the only road to the airport is an accident thats has all traffic at a crawl.  It takes almost 2 hours to get to the airport.  Luckily for us the Mansel's plane is a little late. Partically because it left Charlotte late and partically because it's first approach at landing was aborted because of a warning light in the cockpit. Second attempt worked. Bryan was not excited about that.
I return the car, but have to wait in line to get the 25 Euros spent on the additive AdBlu we put in in Pompei.  The Mansels are a sight for sore eyes and after negotiating a fair price for a taxi for 6, we are back at the appartment to see the rest of the crew.  Amanda comes out to let us in, but because she is wearing her headphones, listening to music, she doesnt hear us calling her.  Mary Ann finally is able to grab her and we are in.
A quick reunion, and then Bryan, Kirsten and I are off to the grocery for food.  Patty, Kathy and Amanda are leaving for their apartment across town where they are staying till Wednesday.
Have to stop for Gelato on the way. And there is always some type of adventure. Bryan has chocolate on his hands and wants to wash them.  First the grocery peopĺe show him plastic gloves, then playtex gloves and then finally go and get the man who is begging at the stores entrsnce, to translate for them.  Bryan had an adventure story and he has only been in Italy for 2 hours.  Back at the apartment, everyone is catching up on sleep and Bryan and Kirsten are not far behind. Since one of the item I had picked u was laundry detetgent, we can wash our dirty clothes once again. Tonight we meet the other three for dinner outside the Pantheon.
How do we get to the Pantheon from where we are?  Noone knows, but Mary Ann asks a man walking his dog he directs us to a bus. But wrong direction. Off that one and on the next.  Mary ann meets an Italan gentleman who grew up in Australia but lives in Rome. Claudio will guide us to the Pantheon, and he does.
We have dinner and then head home in separate taxis.  Bryan, Kirsten and I beat the other three.  Prior to dinner, I change some dollars and get charged a 19.88% transaction fee. Never again.  Tomorrow the Colosium and the Roman Forum.
