We get to the tower and I find out that it is open so you can go to the top. It was closed when Mary Ann and I were here 14 years ago. I go get tickets and we will go up it at 3:00 pm. A stroll around for pictures and drinks and we are headed up the tower.

We walk back to the station to pick up our bags and get our tickets to Firenze. We had hoped to take taxis but there were none, so another "10" minute walk on a hot day in Italy. No I'm not complaining, but some people did. We get the luggage and tickets. But we find out too late, that the early train to Firenze gets in 1 hour later than the later train. A nice ride with many stops through the Italian countryside.
We arrive a bit later then the housekeeper had hoped we would. It would have been easier to find if we didn't have to drag luggage across cobblestone streets. But we do and after schlepping the bags up two flights, we are officially in Firenze.
A quick run out for milk, water and bread, a quick shower and off to dinner.
