Well the trip started a little earlier than planned. With Florence roaring toward our home, the three of us packed up and went to Silver Spring Maryland, so this is the first part of our trip.  Haven't done much apart from watching Cable News (at home we don't have cable TV) and determining how our houses have fared. Seems so far so good. Only my Japanese Tori was blown over and it was rotting at the bottom anyway.

Had a magnificent dinner with the Melzers at their house last night. We also cuaght up on their travels and many Peace Corps friends. An added bonus is that we will meet them for dinner in Paris as they will be spending their last night in Paris on the night we arrive.

I have added a couple of pictures from the feast we had at the Melzers last night.  It consisted of Chicken Provencal and Wine Makers Cake. Those are grapes in it.
